“Tokens of Remembrance”, explores the themes of loss and grief by creating tangible memorials to absent friends.

           Grief is uniquely personal and simultaneously a universal experience. “Tokens of Remembrance” documents my personal journey with grief but also serves as an invitation to interact with the work and take a moment for quiet contemplation.

          Clothing often holds some of the most sentimental value when we lose someone, so I wanted capture the sense of something soft and fragile in a harder material and achieved this by rolling distressed fabrics through metal.
          To preserve these delicate and fleeting textures, I used enamel to make the impermanent become permanent. I combined the therapeutic process of mark making to these enamelled objects to create lasting mementos.
